Driver Tracking App

Overview

A mobile app for drivers to track their consignments in real time and get related services. It works alongside the Fleet Management System web portal.

The problem

Drivers are the key people in the transport world, but current practices cause them several problems with consignments, location-based services and other technical issues. The client wanted to fix these pain points and give drivers an efficient solution through this app.

Process

• Discover: from the research, we added some extra features alongside the main functions the app needed.
• Define: our team studied a range of case studies and competing apps. The research showed the biggest pain points, such as unclear information.
• Wireframes: we designed high-fidelity wireframes for the key flows.
• Design: we turned the wireframes into the final visual design.

Key features

The wireframes and final screens cover:

• Fleet company selection and a simple mobile-number-and-PIN login.
• Trip details: trip, vehicle and consignment details, documents and a start button.
• Scheduled and previous trips.
• Services near me: bank, hospital, restaurant, RTO, petrol pump, rest house, ATM, service centre, parking, police, medical and toll plaza.
• My profile: personal details and documents such as driving licence, Aadhaar card, PAN card, medical certificate and certificate of insurance.
• Leave requests with history and status.
• A constant SOS button.

Visual design

The palette is mostly bright blue with grey, pale blue and white, set in Uni Neue (Book, Regular and Bold).
